Total Compensation Manager

We help companies align their executive and employee compensation (base pay, annual incentives, long term incentives, and local and international stock option plans) with business objectives, and solve the unique challenges of global stock option plans by focusing on risk management, cost reduction, and employee perception of value. By blending our HR and financial expertise, we are able to help companies tie their employee rewards to business goals and shareholder value.
Responsibilities for this key role include:
•Function as an integral member of our Human Resource Solutions Practice, based in San Jose
* Manage your own workflow as well as oversee the work of others.
•Develop and maintain client relationships
• Function as a team member in implementing our market penetration strategies for prospects
• Sell across the Human Resource Services line of business matrix
•Work directly on leading clients with complex issues
•Work directly with clients senior HR or Tax professionals in the areas of:
* Short and long term incentive plan design
•Stock/equity plan development
•Compliance, disclosure
•Change-in-control arrangements & understanding of Section 280G - Golden Parachute implications
•409A - Tax implications of deferred compensation
•Executive Compensation tax issues, including taxation of stock options, incentive stock options, restricted stock, restricted stock units, stock appreciation rights, employee stock purchase plans
•Desire to work on international executive compensation issues related to the offering of equity plans in non-US countries; experience in this area a plus.
Job Requirements: •5-7 years of executive compensation experience.
•Interest in developing new ways to apply analytical skills to business problems and working in multi-disciplined environment;
•Solid understanding of accounting, tax, and legal issues affecting compensation arrangements desirable;
•Prior experience with executive compensation a plus;
•Prior experience with cross-border employee taxation a plus;
•Strong team player, excellent verbal / written communication skills;
•Participate in knowledge sharing and practice management efforts;
•Consistently monitor developments that affect relevant compensation issues;
•Qualitative analysis, typically in Microsoft excel or access, and qualitative report development in word or PowerPoint;
•Ability to manage your own workflow as well as oversee the work of others;
•Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships; and
Past experience working in a dynamic, fast paced setting is preferred.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in related field (e.g., accounting, finance) required; advanced credential (i.e., CPA, SPHR, CCP, Masters in Tax, Masters in Business Administration and/or Juris Doctor) preferred. Note that an advanced credential will be required for promotion.
