Job Description: PricewaterhouseCoopers Human Resource Services (HRS) practice is one of the world’s largest HR, actuarial, and tax consulting businesses, with over 6,000 professionals worldwide. We collaborate with clients who aim to make their people a sustainable source of competitive advantage. We have opportunities at the Manager and Director level, who specializes in accounting for benefits and compensation, within our National Technical Consulting Unit (NTCU) accounting group in New York Metro, Boston and Chicago offices. Important Note: this role sits within the Global Human Resource Services (GHRS) practice within Tax and more specifically within the NTCU group of GHRS.

The benefits and compensation accounting group in our National Technical Consulting Unit plays a key role working with both internal and external clients, keeping them current and compliant with all benefits and compensation accounting issues. We work with our benefits and compensation specialists who provide actuarial and compensation consulting services on non-audit clients, and with our audit teams providing audit support on PwC audit clients.

As a member of this team, you will have direct client involvement:
- Be continually challenged by complex projects and work directly with top-tier Fortune 500 companies
- Serve as a technical resource with direct external client involvement in various situations
- Write technical memos and be involved with client proposal opportunities
- Interface with clients and all PwC practices, responding to questions on benefits and compensation accounting
- Develop materials for and conduct ongoing training sessions to educate internal and external clients on "hot topics" in benefits and compensation accounting

In addition, you will have key subject matter expert roles:
- Monitor FASB, SEC, AICPA, IASB developments that impact benefits and compensation accounting
- Act as a liaison with the National Office for our Assurance (Audit) practice to solve cutting edge and complex issues
- Act as part of a team developing and evaluating thought leadership in benefits and compensation accounting
- Participate in Human Resource Services quality assurance and independence initiatives

Job Requirements:
Qualified candidates will have:
- Required: 10 + years of experience in accounting/auditing working with technical accounting issues
- Preferred: Experience working with accounting for pension plans (FAS 87/88), retiree health benefits (FAS 106) executive compensation (FAS 123R), and other benefit and compensation issues
- Ability to manage own workflow as well as the work of others
- Ability to learn new, complex issues quickly
- Superior writing, research and analytical skills
- Strong presentation / training skills
- Strong leader and team player


Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related area; advanced credential (i.e. CPA, SPHR, CCP). Masters in Tax, Business Administration, and/or Juris Doctor preferred. Please note that an advanced credential will be required for promotion.
