MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

FULL-TIME, PERMANENT

GEO is seeking a highly organized and creative Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join our team. As the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, you will play a vital role in developing and executing marketing strategies to promote our organization and engage our community. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including design, digital promotion, communications, community building, event support, and executive assistance.

LOCATION

This position is remote based, with local, national, and international travel required.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Marketing and design: Create compelling marketing materials, including promotional and announcement emails, social media assets, and platform announcements. Ensure consistency in branding, corporate tone of voice and messaging across all marketing channels.
  • Digital Promotion: Lead the digital promotional strategy, managing and maintaining relationships with vendors and third-party platforms such as Campaign Monitor, Hootsuite, LinkedIn, Higher Logic (GEOconnect), and Elevate. Assist in updating and maintaining GEO website content, including uploading articles and event information.
  • Communications: Maintain a well-organized marketing calendar to schedule campaigns and communications effectively. Design and build automated communication journeys, collaborating with GEO’s leads for content and systems.
  • Community building: Manage and grow communities on LinkedIn and GEOconnect, fostering engagement and interaction within our networks.
  • Reporting and analysis: Conduct data analysis for all marketing efforts, providing valuable insights to improve strategies and outcomes. Generate and analyze post-event and membership services surveys to measure and enhance satisfaction.
  • Industry association liaison: Serve as the main point of contact for ASAE (American Society of Association Executives) and maintain the account.
  • Events and project management: Collaborate with the Executive Director and committee chairs to execute action items efficiently. Provide support for GEO events and initiatives as needed.
  • Board support: Maintain the Boardvantage portal and schedule meetings. Manage the Docusign process and compile data and presentation materials for board-related tasks and meetings.
  • Continuing Education (CE) administration: Produce all CE certificates and input course information into the required system. Maintain filing of CE documentation for audit purposes.
  • Event support: Assist in inputting event information into the mobile app when necessary. Support the Event Producer with online and in-person event administration, including content research, green room support, and post-event debrief.
  • Executive Director assistance: Complete expense reports, arrange travel, conduct research, and handle ad-hoc administrative duties to support the Executive Director effectively.

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in design software and digital marketing platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to work effectively under tight deadlines and in stressful situations.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Passion for the organization and a desire to work with a team of individuals who are dedicated to their craft.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
