Why I would like to be a GEO Board Member
Like many GEO members, I’ve dedicated my career to equity compensation and employee ownership.Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting a wide spectrum of companies – from early-stage startups launching their first equity plans to some of the world’s largest corporations managing global programs for tens of thousands of employees. My journey has taken me across geographies and functions, giving me a holistic view of the equity landscape.
Having worked at Computershare, Link Group (now MUFG), Solium/Shareworks, and Morgan Stanley before joining Qapita, I’ve gained valuable insights into both public and private market equity programs. I’ve been based in Sydney and now Singapore, but my work spans Southeast Asia, ANZ, India, the Middle East, and the US. These experiences have shaped my deep belief in the role equity can play in building ownership, alignment, and long-term value.
I’ve been attending GEO events since early in my career and have seen first-hand the impact that past Board Members, such as Hamish Wallace and Joanna Mak, have had on local ecosystems. Their example inspired me. I want to contribute in a similar way, especially in emerging regions where awareness, education, and infrastructure around equity compensation are still developing.
I actively mentor startups and growth-stage companies through accelerators across Southeast Asia, helping them embed employee ownership early. I’ve also supported GEO’s India Chapter launch and would welcome the opportunity to contribute more formally to GEO’s global expansion.
Beyond technical expertise, I bring a strong commitment to education, practical implementation, and community building. I would be honoured to play a role in supporting GEO’s continued growth, expanding its reach, and shaping the next chapter of global equity leadership.
Specific skills
I bring a unique combination of regional expertise, cross-border experience, leadership capability, and hands-on understanding of both private and public market equity programs. In addition to my work across Australia, New Zealand, and the US, I’ve worked extensively across Southeast Asia and India – regions that remain underrepresented in global equity dialogue. I believe I can support GEO in expanding its footprint across APAC beyond the existing Greater China Chapter.
I have experience supporting both VC-backed startups and listed companies, and understand the practical nuances of equity design, administration, valuations, financial reporting, and governance across varying stages of company maturity.
My network spans legal, finance, HR, and Reward teams across ANZ, Asia, and the US, enabling me to bridge the gap between technical expertise and stakeholder adoption. I have led cross-border teams and multi-disciplinary projects across several organizations, helping scale equity operations and align global standards while respecting local complexity. At Qapita, I advise on cross-jurisdictional product development and the scalability of equity solutions. As part of our Consulting practice, I also work directly with companies to design and launch their international share plans. I would welcome the opportunity to bring this global-first, implementation-focused perspective to GEO as the organization continues to expand and evolve its offerings.
Finally, I regularly mentor founders and operators on equity through my involvement with regional accelerators and incubators, championing employee ownership from the ground up. I look forward to an opportunity to contribute to GEO’s strategic priorities, including content creation, chapter development, and broader community engagement.
Other board positions
I have not held a formal board position in the past, but I am excited about the opportunity to contribute at the board level and keen to learn from my peers while offering my perspective and experience to GEO.

Why I would like to be a GEO Board Member
Hi,I have a core belief that the economy can only work and we have a positive outcome with ownership. I dedicated my life to this, although I have never looked like a certified person in this field. My debut has been more in decentralised organisations and programmable ownership in this internet native, across geo structures. My focus was understanding rewards and compensation in these structures and making it so relevant so that contributors stay even without contracts, where the decision becomes an everyday thing, choosing to stay every day can only be possible in sustainable and owned organisations.
I recently started TOAP, a company to bring the same flexibility into traditional workplaces, and we are iterating every day. Bringing the same flexibility to existing structures is harder; however, it is mandatory to enable broad-based ownership, where individuals' lives go beyond transactional value and both the psychology and the wealth change step by step in each contribution.
I want to immerse myself further, bring my expertise and knowledge, and learn from others. In the age of AI, ownership will only become more sparse. I want to enable futures where participants are rewarded and not left out.
Specific skills
- Innovative ownership structures with experience from web3 and DAOs, where ownership has been exercised and available globally - Advocacy and dedication for broad-based ownership. My life dedication and belief is on ownership for a sound economic system
- An all-inclusive and objective lens where ownership and rights are for everyone and cocreated
- A practitioner of futures, AI, and the future of work, where the ownership landscape is going to change.

Why I would like to be a GEO Board Member
I would love to bring my experience and expertise to GEO and further help nurture a global culture of employee share ownership on an international basis. The paragraphs below highlight my commitment and contribution to this field.France is the EU country with the highest percentage of employee share ownership. I have been involved in designing and structuring employees share purchase plans for French public and private companies for more than 30 years. These plans are targeted to beneficiaries in all juridictions where the company operates. This international roll-out dimension gives me a good understanding of how ESPP work on a global basis. I have the privilege of having designed and structured the largest French ESPP for both a public (Carrefour) and private (Suez) company and I pride myself on helping corporations achieve above-average engagement rates in these schemes.
Aside from ESPP, I helped optimise the hedging of stock-options for publicly listed companies using mirror call options in a framework that got approved by the French market t regulator.
I have recently worked with the private equity industry on a guide to encourage the implementation of broad based employee share plans within their holdings (https://www.franceinvest.eu/guide-partage-de-la-creation-de-valeur/). Initiatives by private companies to launch ESPPs is relatively new in France but interest is definitely growing.
Last but not least, I am a member of the French Chapter and already contribute to promoting GEO towards French companies.

A strong knowledge of the French and continental European considerations
A proven experience in designing and implementing award-winning plans that achieve above-expectations results

After more than 20 incredible years founding and leading Phoenix-ESOP, and in the last years, serving as its President, I’ve decided to begin a new chapter. Currently in a non-compete period, I’m taking this time as a strategic pause—to reflect, recharge, and explore new and meaningful opportunities where I can contribute my experience and passion. One such path I’m particularly excited about is joining a board where I can bring real value and impact.Founding Phoenix-ESOP began as a simple idea grew into something far greater than I could have imagined. Phoenix-ESOP, a subsidiary of Phoenix Holdings Ltd. (PHOE.TA)—one of Israel’s largest and leading financial groups—has become a market leader in providing operational and trustee services for equity compensation, serving startups, mature companies, and global organizations. I’m proud to have helped shape the equity and M&A space in Israel, especially during its formative years.
Throughout the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside exceptional professionals, both in Israel and globally and many vendors. Together, we built a company that reached significant milestones, navigated complex challenges, and became a trusted name in our field.
In recent years, I also led the founding of the Israeli chapter of the GEO. The chapter quickly gained international recognition and consistently broke participation records—reflecting our strong commitment to advancing knowledge, community, and collaboration in the field of equity compensation. This success wouldn’t have been possible without my incredible partners who continue to lead the chapter with dedication and expertise.
As a founder, executive, and passionate advocate for equity compensation, I bring deep experience and strategic vision. I believe strongly in the power of community, education, and worldwide colaboration of expets, and I would be honored to contribute my time, energy, and insight to support the continued success and growth of GEO—and beyond.

Sarah Long
Head of Share Plans
WEALTH at work
Why I would like to be a GEO Board Member
With over 30 years in the employee share plan market, I’ve seen the invaluable role that GEO plays in promoting best practices, connecting professionals, and championing employee share ownership worldwide. GEO has been a constant presence throughout my career, and I am now seeking the opportunity to give back to an organisation that has given so much to the industry and to me personally.I bring wide-ranging experience and integrity, having worked across several share plan administrators including Computershare, Shareworks by Morgan Stanley, Barclays, YBS and Santander as well as within the UK financial regulator (FSA/FCA). I was privileged to be a key member of the team that launched the British Airways’ global share plan, one of the earliest global SAYE arrangements. Since then, I’ve supported the design and delivery of share plans for over 40 companies, ranging from FTSE-listed multinationals to fast growing private firms.
My passion lies in helping employees understand how equity can fit into their broader financial goals. Through my work at the Money Advice Service and now at WEALTH at work, I have developed and delivered workplace financial education programmes aimed at empowering employees to make better-informed decisions about their equity holdings. I believe this educational element is a crucial and often under-recognised component of successful global equity plans.
I’m a familiar face in the share plans world and I am an active member of GEO’s UK & Channel Islands Chapter. With a strong industry network and a reputation for boundless energy and positivity, I would relish the chance to extend GEO’s reach, especially among issuers not yet engaged with the organisation. I’ve previously served on industry committees and user groups, which has given me a strong understanding of governance, collaboration, and the importance of delivering value to members.
What draws me most to this opportunity is the chance to contribute to GEO’s strategic direction particularly in enhancing issuer engagement, expanding the global community, and championing financial wellbeing. As the equity landscape continues to evolve, GEO has a unique role to play in equipping its members with tools, education, and insights that make a real-world difference.
I would be honoured to join the GEO Board and contribute my experience, enthusiasm, and deep-rooted belief in the power of employee equity to drive inclusive and sustainable success.
Specific skills
I am an excellent networker and have a very wide range of contacts (both members and non GEO members) who I would encourage to become involved in GEO events and activities.I believe I bring a rare combination of both deep technical expertise and strong soft skills, developed over more than 30 years in the employee share plan industry. This blend allows me to operate effectively across strategic, operational, and interpersonal levels all of which are key to contributing meaningfully as a GEO Board member.
On the technical side, I have worked across every aspect of the share plans lifecycle from global plan design and administration to regulatory compliance and financial wellbeing. My experience spans major providers including Computershare, Shareworks by Morgan Stanley, YBS, and Santander, as well as time with the UK regulator (FSA/FCA). I’ve helped launch and manage share plans for over 40 companies and I was part of the pioneering team behind the British Airways global SAYE plan one of the first of its kind as well as working with GEO award winners today such as Sage, Drax etc. This gives me a practical, well-rounded understanding of the global challenges GEO members face today.
I also bring expertise in financial education and employee engagement, having led initiatives at the Money Advice Service and WEALTH at work to help employees make informed decisions about their equity. This gives me insight into how share plans intersect with broader financial wellbeing a growing priority for many employers.
Equally important are the soft skills I bring. I am a highly collaborative and positive team player, often described as having boundless energy and a “can-do” mindset. I’m a confident communicator, comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels from issuers and administrators to policy-makers and plan participants. My strong interpersonal skills have helped me build a wide industry network, which I would actively leverage to extend GEO’s reach and impact.
I have experience serving on industry committees and user groups, and I understand the importance of governance, listening, consensus-building, and representing diverse member perspectives. I bring emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and a thoughtful approach to problem-solving all of which I believe are essential for an effective board member in a global organisation.
In short, I offer a unique mix of credibility, energy, and commitment with the technical understanding and human insight needed to support GEO’s mission and help drive the next stage of its global impact.
