The 13th Annual NorCal Forum gives you the chance to experience and participate in the most forward-thinking equity and executive compensation discussions and attracts industry experts, policy makers, academics, thought leaders, influencers and decision makers.

Deploying and implementing an effective equity compensation program is no easy feat and challenges are rampant. If your program is struggling to make a real difference, there are things you can do to ensure the benefits you offer are valued. We’ve rounded up the top reasons equity compensation programs struggle and ways to make them work for the better

In this session, we will explore:

• Why it’s important to maximize the impact on your equity compensation programs
• Ways to make an impact in your communications and strategy
• Success stories/case studies from other organizations that overcame the challenges presented to them

In January 2022, Suez, became a French private company after being sold by Veolia to a Consortium including Meridiam (40%), Global Infrastructure Partner (40%), Caisse des Dépôts et Consignation (10%) and CNP (10%).

Suez was the 2023 Winner of the GEO AWARD for BEST USE OF EMPLOYEE SHARE PLANS IN A CORPORATE ACTION. Nadine Thouin, Suez Compensation and Benefits officer, and Jerome Laurre, managing partner at Beyond Solutions, will guide us through the journey from the commitment by the new shareholders to significantly raise employee ownership to the implementation of a French type ESPP offering various leverage formula and how the innovative structure was successful.

In this chapter meeting, you will have the opportunity to:

• Learn how Suez has implemented the most important employee share ownership plan in its history, with the highest participation rate never achieved in the group.
• Understand the essential role of this employee share plans as a leverage for involving employees in the development and performance of the company
